Yeah, demoting pluto from planet status is not fair. Pluto was intercepting Neptunes orbit since begining, it can not be a right reason to demote pluto.

People who believe that they as individuals cannot make a difference in reversing global warming are mistaken. It is up to each one of us to take steps to reduce our consumption of oil, reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfills, and increase the use of renewable and alternate energy sources.

But the most important way you can change the world is to vote - vote for those who will enact legislation to reduce pollutants - encourage research and development in alt-energy, stop protecting big-oil companies with favors and subsidies, and re-evaluate our relationships with countries in the world who do not encourage the same.

I am not a ‘tree-hugger’ - but I’ve started using biodiesel fule in my truck, I recycle everything that I can and always try to repair things instead of just throwing them away. Teaching our children to think and act this way is our responsibility, not an option.

Actually, the US Department of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Resources under the Bush administration has made alternative energy sources a top priority, to reduce consumption of natural resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Clean-coal technology, nuclear power plants, money for solar energy research, that type of thing. You won’t hear about in the news, though. It’s boring, not very sexy, and uncontroversial.

I wonder why Al Gore made a movie and not a web cast. Wasn’t he the one who brought us the internet? Web casts don’t produce any manufacturing waste (unlike books and film) and are accessible to more people. And why, if this information is true and the clock is really ticking, is he charging money to see the film and buy the book, instead of donating them to libraries, community centers, schools and thinktanks? I don’t see the point of scaring the bejeezus out of John Q. Public, who is helpless to stop global climate change. Unless you simply want to become more popular.

Your report on Gore contributes nothing to the environment.What it does do is to diminish
credibility to the fact that we have an environmental problem. I would ask you what your purpose is in writing this article? We have a problem; just look around. The weather is unlike anything that I have ever experienced and I am 68 years old. How about writing something positive that can serve the environment.

Because he is honest and not blind, unlike Bush.

Well, I can’t speak for Al Gore; but there comes a time in life when one starts thinking about what he/she will be remembered for. Well, without getting into any conspiracy theories, let’s just say he (Al Gore) started asking himself the question. “If not me then WHO will get this message to the entire planet.” It surely is NOT going to be George Bush. I believe that any investigator can dig up dirt on anyone; but isn’t it possible that he’s considering that he wants to leave a POSITIVE mark on this planet rather than just being another one of the millions who don’t give a crap.
So what if he isn’t the poster-child for Green living. At least he’s doing something to move the cause forward rather than just cutting someone down for not being perfect.

Maybe he’s worked hard enough in this life and wants to enjoy a little of it. At least he’s making his contribution before his time runs out. What can you or I say we’ve done to move the cause forward. Well, that’s my two cents worth for tonight - I’m going to bed. Nite-all.
